Fresh chips in Zeewolde

Everything starts in Zeewolde. Our farm stands on the Duikerweg, and that is where the potatoes grow from which we cut fresh chips for hospitality in Zeewolde and far beyond. For a snack bar, beach pavilion or restaurant in the village, we are not an outside supplier but the farmer next door.

Our family has farmed this land since 1994, growing sugar beet, onions, winter wheat and above all potatoes. In 2016 chips were added, when a local chip shop no longer wanted to peel and cut its own. The scraping and cutting machine stands here in the yard, and on Tuesday and Friday mornings it runs flat out.

Leo looks after chip processing and growing, Joost after crop protection and growing, and Thijs after customer contact. Jolanda keeps the books. So with us you always speak to someone who knows where the potato comes from.

Hospitality along the Wolderwijd and Nuldernauw

Zeewolde is a green village with a lot of water. Along the Wolderwijd and the Nuldernauw there is a marina, beaches, campsites and holiday parks, and in summer the area is busy with water sports fans, cyclists and families. Chips simply belong there, whether they come from a kiosk on the beach or from a pavilion kitchen.

For those businesses it helps that the supplier is just round the corner. If you need to top up during a hot week, one message sorts it, within our regular cutting days. And if you run a smaller kitchen out of season, you simply order less.

A visit to the farm is always welcome. You will see the fields where the Agria and the Frieslander grow, the area where we wash and grade and the machine that cuts the chips. Many business owners like knowing what goes into their fryer, and being able to tell that story to their customers.
