Only the water of the Wolderwijd separates our farm in Zeewolde from Harderwijk. For snack bars, restaurants and beach businesses in Harderwijk we cut fresh chips from our own potatoes twice a week, and we bring them to your door ourselves. That gives you fresh chips in Harderwijk with the same quality all year round.
Harderwijk is an old Hanseatic town with a fishing tradition. Within the remains of the town wall you find narrow streets, squares with terraces and a centre that fills up on summer evenings. Along the waterfront runs the boulevard, looking out across the water towards Flevoland. It is a town that lives off its residents and, at the same time, off the visitors who come for a day or a week.
You see that combination in the hospitality trade. Some businesses serve the same locals all year, others suddenly get much busier in summer. Chips are on almost every menu, from the classic chip shop to the restaurant serving a side of chips with the fish.
For a business in a tourist town, predictability is worth its weight in gold. You want to serve the same chips in July as in January, even though you fry far more in summer. Because we only cut our own potatoes, there is little variation in quality through the year. From September through July that is the Agria, and only for a few weeks in August the Frieslander. If you want to know more about that second variety, read the page on Frieslander potatoes.
In high season we recommend ordering generously and sticking to fixed delivery days. Out of season you order less, so nothing has to sit in the fridge for long. Fresh chips contain no additives to keep them artificially, so tight stock is the best stock.
From Harderwijk we deliver along the edge of the Veluwe. To the east lies Ermelo, with heathland, woods and a wide choice of campsites and holiday parks. A little further towards Zwolle lies Nunspeet, where the Veluwe reaches right up to the village and holidaymakers come through all season.
In the other direction, towards Amersfoort, lies Putten, where the woods give way to open country. Each place has its own kind of hospitality, from the campsite kiosk to the village restaurant, and the individual pages explain how we work there.
Good chips start with the potato, but they only become truly good in your kitchen. You fry fresh chips in two stages: first a par-fry at a lower temperature so the inside cooks through, then a short finish at a higher temperature for colour and a crisp crust. For the finish many businesses work at around 175 degrees, partly to limit acrylamide formation. There is more detail under frying chips twice.
If things are not going the way you want, for instance because the chips brown too quickly or come out of the basket limp, we look at your fat, your temperatures and your routine together. That advice is part of working with us. As a chips supplier in Harderwijk we want your customers to notice that something has changed, and that it is good.

Yes. Harderwijk is close to our farm, across the Wolderwijd, and is one of the places we deliver to ourselves. The chips are cut on Tuesday and Friday mornings and delivered afterwards.
Of course. Many beach and leisure businesses mainly trade in the warmer months. Let us know when you open and close and we will plan deliveries around that.
Yes, we supply whole Agria potatoes, washed or scraped. They are washed and graded on the farm every week and keep well for a long time if you store them cool and dark.
Not in the usual sense. A wholesaler sells a broad range from many producers. We only do fresh chips and potatoes from our own land, and we deliver everything ourselves. Wholesalers who sell on can, however, buy from us.
